Description

The 'Facility for Automated Intelligent Monitoring of Marine Systems' (FAIMMS) is a facility of the Australian 'Integrated Marine Observing System' (IMOS) project. This data set was collected by the FAIMMS Great Barrier Reef Sensor Network and contains data from the following sensor deployments:

There have been 3 deployments for the Water Temperature data set.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Water Temperature at 2.0m from 02 Dec 2008 through to 02 Sep 2012, and the installation was located at/on Heron Island Relay Pole 3 Latitude:-23.44709 - Longitude:151.96608. Sensor deployed was a OTI: RP1:Thermistor String: Thermistor 1 (top) manufactured by Measurement Engineering Australia, model MEA 2173. The following comment was recorded regarding this deployment - 'Thermistor mounted at the base of Relay-Pole 3 (RP3) at Heron Island'.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Water Temperature at 2.0m from 06 Sep 2012 through to 22 Jan 2014, and the installation was located at/on Heron Island Relay Pole 3 Latitude:-23.44709 - Longitude:151.96608. Sensor deployed was a MEA2173 SDI-12 Smart Temperature Sensor manufactured by Measurement Engineering Australia, model MEA2173. The following comment was recorded regarding this deployment - 'added by auto deploy'.
