Dataset: HUN Riverine Landscape Classes subject to hydrological change

Description

Abstract

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

It is essentially the a subset of the riverine LCs layer amd includes only those stream lines that co-incide with the modelled and inferred potentially impacted reaches. They have LC ids and names modified as follows to distinguish from the source Riverine Classes

1022 = Low to mod intermittent_hc

1023 = Mod to highly intermittent_hc

1024 = Highly intermittent to ephemeral_hc

1025 = Perennial_hc

Purpose

This dataset was created to address the issue of the superfluous tributary stream segments that unintentionally became included as streams subject to hydrological change because they shared an Assessment Unit with an impacted reach, thus leading to overestimating when summing reach lengths by LC in the ZoPHC.

Dataset History

The Riverine LC lines in in the Landscape class dataset were intersected with the modelled reach dataset and clipped to only those lines modelled or inferred to be subject to hydrological change.
