Dataset: MBC Surat UWIR Bungil-Mooga extent

Description

Abstract

This dataset was supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and is presented here as originally supplied.

This layer defines the extent of the OGIA groundwater model flow boundary for the Bungil Formation and Mooga Sandstone.

This dataset describes the geological extent of the Bungil Formationand Mooga Sandstone representinglayer three (3) in the regional MODFLOW groundwaterlfow model of the Surat Basin. This dataset was adapted from Habermehl, MA & Lau, JE 1997, Hydrogeology of the Great Artesian Basin (Map at scale 1: 2 500 000), Australian Geological Survey Organisation, Canberra. The Habermehl and Lau data set was corrected and extended using 1:100000 and 1:250000 geological mapping.

The layer number within the QWC regional groundwater flow model for the Surat and southern Bowen Basin, produced for the Underground Water Impact Report on the Surat Cumulative Management area.

Purpose

The dataset was developed to describe the geological extent of the Bungil Formation and Mooga Sandstone and representing layer three (3) in the regional MODFLOW groundwater flow model of the Surat Basin. The purpose of this layer is to define the model extent for the Bungil Formation and the Mooga Sandstone as represented in a number of Bioregional Assessment products for the MBC subregion.

Dataset History

This layer defines the extent of the OGIA groundwater model flow boundary for the Bungil Formation and Mooga Sandstone. It is Layer 3 of the 19 groundwater model layers that were as devised for the model.
