Dataset: Namoi impacted groundwater bores

Description

Abstract

This dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

This dataset is a point geometry shapefile that defines bores where minimum impact considerations may apply due to additional coal resource development. The data has been classified to show where bores are located within or outside of a mine lease. The extent of the coal resource developments in the coal resource development pathway (CRDP) is the union of the extents in the baseline and in the additional coal resource development (ACRD).

Purpose

Created for the purpose of illustration in the Namoi Group 3-4 Product.

Bores known to be owned by a mining company have been excluded from the figure.

Dataset History

A point geometry shapefile was created from groundwater bores that are within the zone of potential hydrological change (ZoPHC) and where additional drawdown has greater than 50% chance of exceeding 2 metres.

The result shows bores where minimum impact considerations may apply due to additional coal resource development.
