Tenure of Australia's forests (2013) is a continental dataset of tenure classified into national forest tenure classes: Multiple Use Public Forest, Nature Conservation Reserves, Other Crown Land, Leasehold, Private Freehold and Unresolved Tenure.

The dataset was developed from the commercially available Public Sector Mapping Agency (PSMA) CADLite and Tenure datasets and tenure data obtained from Forests NSW. It was compiled by the National Forest Inventory (NFI) - a collaborative partnership between the Australian and state and territory governments - whose role is to collate, integrate and communicate information on Australia's forests. States and Territories agencies collect forest data using independent methods and at varying scales or resolutions. The NFI, through the Australian Bureau of Agricultural Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES), applies a national classification to data supplied by the states and territories to allow seamless integration.
