The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.
This dataset containts multiple folders holding data on hydraulic properties for the CLM groundwater model.
Data in folder "lay1" is for the alluvial aquifer within the groundwater model domain.
All the data from the BMO group (consisting of the Bungil Formation, Mooga Sandstone and the Orallo Formation), the Gubberamunda Sandstone, the Westbourne Formation, and the Springbok Sandstone of the Surat Basin were combined. The resulting patterns of the hydraulic conductivity versus depth relationship were then used to inform an initial parameter range that constrains the Kx of the Grafton Formation (model layer2), the Bungawalbin Member (model layer 3) and the Kangaroo Creek Sandstone Member (model layer 4) in the Richmond river basin.
Data from the Walloon Coal Measures in the Surat Basin (Bioregional Assessment Programme, Dataset 3) were used to constrain parameter variation in the Maclean Sandstone Member (model layer 5) and the Walloon Coal Measures (model layer 6).
The data was derived to constrain the hydraulic property change in the Clarence-Moreton groundwater model.
Data in folder "lay1" is for the alluvial aquifer within the groundwater model domain. It was derived by using the groundwater model boundary (Bioregional Assessment Programme, Dataset 1) to filter the hydraulic property data generated in companion product 2.1/2.2 (Bioregional Assessment Programme, Dataset 2).
Due to a lack of bedrock aquifer data in the Clarence-Moreton bioregion, relevant data were sourced from hydrogeological strata in the Surat Basin (Bioregional Assessment Programme, Dataset 3), where much more data is available. However, as the correlation between the sedimentary bedrock stratigraphic units above the Walloon Coal Measures in the Surat and Clarence-Moreton basins is poorly understood, it is not possible to directly use the hydraulic parameters from a particular unit in the Surat Basin to inform the hydraulic characteristics of a unit in the Clarence-Moreton Basin. Instead, all the data from the BMO group (consisting of the Bungil Formation, Mooga Sandstone and the Orallo Formation), the Gubberamunda Sandstone, the Westbourne Formation, and the Springbok Sandstone of the Surat Basin were combined.
