This dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. The parent datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.
This dataset is a filtered spatial representation of hydrochemistry bore information in the Galilee and Eromanga Basins, with a particular focus on total dissolved solids (TDS) as an indication of water quality.
This dataset was created to provide TDS data for use in the Groundwater Quality section of the Galilee Current Water Accounts and Water Quality report.
A quality assurance process was conducted on the source groundwater bore dataset to prevent the inclusion of anomalously high TDS values.
Hydrochemistry data for bores in the subregion were extracted from the Queensland hydrochemistry database. A charge balance was then performed for all samples, and samples with a charge balance greater than +/- 10% were removed from the dataset.
