The Australian Government’s $380 million Mobile Black Spot Program will deliver improved mobile coverage to regional and remote Australia. Round 1 of the Program is delivering 499 new mobile base stations around Australia – 429 Telstra and 70 Vodafone base stations. The first base stations under Round 1 of the Program began rolling out in 2015. The rollout sequence is determined by Telstra and Vodafone based on various factors including obtaining local government planning approvals.
