This dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.
These shape files correspond to the areas for water balance is reported in the groundwater modelling report (product 2.6.2). In the GW modelling product water balance presented has a focus on two CRDP mines - the New Acland Stage 2 and The Range. The two water balance areas correspond to these two mines. The areas were selected such that it encompasses the area around the mines beyond which the drawdown difference between Baseline and CRDP model runs are minimal.
The water balance areas were required to extract water balance information from the model outputs so that they can be reported in the product 2.6.2
This dataset was generated in the BA Programme. The defined areas in the shapefile are based on the groundwater modeller's judgement informed by the model outputs.
