Dataset: Environmental Asset Database - Commonwealth Environmental Water Office

Description

Abstract

This dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.

The Asset Polygon table includes spatially defined 'environmental assets' that the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office has identified that require environmental watering. It is not a comprehensive dataset of environmental assets in the Murray-Darling Basin. Instead, it is limited to those assets that are currently, or are expected to be, actively managed using environmental water. The dataset is periodically expanded as environmental water is provided to new sites, on an annual basis and as needed. The method used to identify environmental assets for this purpose is heavily influenced by operational considerations.

Purpose

The spatial boundaries of environmental asset polygons are indicative only and should not be relied on as definitive boundaries of streams, waterbodies or other areas of environmental significance.

The Asset Polygon table includes spatially defined 'environmental assets' that the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office has identified that require environmental watering.

Dataset History

The Asset Polygon table includes spatially defined 'environmental assets' that the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office has identified that require environmental watering.

Assets were identified by the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder and spatial data compiled within ERIN for internal use of the Department of the Environment and the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder.
