Dataset: Murray-Darling Basin land use project

Description

This publication was produced by ABARES for the Murray-Darling Basin Authority

This report describes an analysis of how and where land use mapping might be improved in the Murray-Darling Basin.

Reliability and confidence in catchment scale land use data was investigated using a multi-criteria analysis based on the scale, currency and likelihood of change. The results can be used to guide the prioritisation of land use data updates.

A number of land uses can be readily updated using authoritative datasets. Adoption of these data by state agencies can reduce the amount of time required for mapping.

All analyses were undertaken on national datasets and summarised for the Murray-Darling Basin as well as nationally.
