Dataset: NSW allocation of aquifer for screened unit of monitoring bores

Description

Abstract

This dataset was supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and is presented here as originally supplied. The metadata was not provided by the data supplier and has been compiled by the programme based on known details.

Selected bores in NSW have been assigned a screened aquifer by the Bureau of Meteorology. This work was undertaken specifically to meet the needs of the National Water Account and Australian Water Resource Assessment Report, and as such are not exhaustive.

Aquifers have been assigned to bores based on a number of data sources. These sources are listed below:

  1. Groundwater status report 2000-05 (Murray Darling Basin Commission, 2008, ISBN: 978 1 921257 46 9)

  2. NSW NGIS (Bureau of Meteorology)

  3. National Water Account 2011 (http://www.bom.gov.au/water/nwa/2011/) - bores assigned to aquifers as part of the NWA 2011 have also been included
