NAME:Equivalent fresh water head difference, in meters, between the shallowest
and deepest aquifers. DESCRIPTION:Equivalent fresh water head difference, in
meters, between the shallowest and deepest aquifers over the whole Murray
Basin. PURPOSE:Hydrogeological mapping for land and water management,
particularly salinisation and water logging in the Murray Basin.
COMMENTS:Appended set of 1:250 000 scale Murray Basin Hydrogeological Map
Series Sourced from map published by the Australian Geological Survey
Organisation (AGSO a now Geoscience Australia). Issued under the authority of
the Minister for Primary Industry and Energy, Chairman of the Murray-Darling
Basin Ministerial Council. The Murray Basin Hydrogeological Map Series is
jointly produced by the Commonwealth, New South Wales, Victorian and South
Australian governments. Participating authorities are AGSO, NSW Department of
Water Resources, Vic Rural Water Corporation and S Department of Mines and
Energy. The series is co-ordinatedby the Groundwater Working Group of the
Murray-Darling Basin Commission.
