Dataset: Tasmania West Coast Current Meter (Mooring) Data 1988

This dataset comprises the current meter data collected from a transect off Point Hibbs, on the west coast of Tasmania during May-November 1988. The moorings were deployed in relation to a study of orange roughy distribution around Tasmania and the data were subsequently published in relation to a study of movement of blue grenadier larvae (Lyne & Thresher, 1994). There are 4 moorings with 9 current meters represented in this dataset. Parameters typically recorded in current meter data comprise east-west and north-south velocity components, water temperature, pressure, and salinity at a nominal depth for each current meter. The data have been processed and are archived as part of the holdings of the CMR Data Centre in Hobart.
