Dataset: NSW - CRA/RFA - Forests - Eden - National Estate - Flora Disjunct Species

Description

Disjunct species are defined as those species whose populations are isolated geographically from each other.

The disjunct species dataset is a shapefile derived from flora point locality data supplied by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), and developed as part of the assessment of the National Estate for the Eden Comprehensive Regional Assessment (CRA) process.

The flora point locality data was collected using site and herbarium samples. The species considered disjunct were determined at a series of expert workshops.

This dataset has been assessed against the National Estate sub-criterion A1: Importance in the evolution of Australian flora, fauna, landscapes or climate. The analysis was confined to flora.
