Dataset: CLM - Streamflow unified NSW

Description

Abstract

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from the NSW streamflow dataset from NSW Office of Water. The source dataset is identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

A set of unified 6-category daily streamflow files for available stream gauging stations in the Tweed, Brunswick, Richmond and Clarence catchments, NSW.

Purpose

To determine the availability of good quality gauging data for each gauging station to meet AWRA calibration requirements

Dataset History

The New South Wales Office of Water (NOW) provides to the Bureau of Meteorology a copy of their hydstra surface water database. The last extract was received in July 2013.

Data was extracted from the Hydstra format to .csv files for surface water sites within the CLM sub-region as requested by the CLM project team. Quality codes have been included.

Where surface water quality data is available, this is included on a separate tab for each gauging station

Each unified 6-category daily streamflow file was generated using the MATLAB script "Streamflow_QA_QC.m". The six categories are good, fair, poor, unverified, missing, and non-conformed.
