Dataset: Galilee water level trend

Description

Abstract

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

This dataset was prepared from time-series water levels collected by the Qld DNRM to summarise the current trends in water levels for observation bores in the Galilee subregion. The dataset is a summary of statistically significant water level trends found in non-artesian observation bores in the Galilee subregion.

Dataset History

Water level data for non-artesian bores were collected from the Queensland Bore database (DNRM). Calendar dates for water level measurements were converted into cumulative years from the first measurement. Time-series water levels for each bore were analysed using the Theil-Sen regression method to establish whether they showed a statistically significant trend in water levels.
