Dataset: CLM - Multivariate statistics of bedrock groundwater chemistry

Description

Abstract

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

This datasets includes water chemistry data from all sedimentary and volcanic bedrock formations in the Clarence-Moreton bioregion. Furthermore, it contains the outputs of multivariate statistical analysis. As part of the analysis, the water chemistry records were grouped into different clusters based on major ions composition, pH and electrical conductivity.

Dataset History

As part of the analysis, the water chemistry records were grouped into different clusters based on major ions composition, pH and electrical conductivity.

The type of multivariate statistical analysis that was conducted is a hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA).

The details on this analysis are provided in Clarence-Moreton bioregional assessment programme product 2.1-2.2 (Raiber et al., 2016a). The spatial context is furthermore also presented in product 2.3 (Raiber et al., 2016b). The methods are explained in more detail in Raiber et al. (2012).
