Dataset: Outback Region Rated Species Flora - PED

Description

Abstract

This dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.

Shows the locations of species rated as having 'conservation significance' in the Outback region in South Australia (Gillam and Urban 2013) and have been recorded in the Biological Database of South Australia or the Atlas of Living Australia. Note there is no equivalent regional rating in the Northern Territory.

Current biodiversity data are available from the Atlas of Living Australia at http://www.ala.org.au/

Purpose

To indicate the locations of species that are rated as having 'conservation significance' in the Outback region.

Dataset History

Dataset developed for the Lake Eyre Basin Bioregional Assessment: Context statement for the Pedirka subregion. Ratings; Gillam S and Urban R (2013) Regional Species Conservation Assessment Project, Phase 1 Report: Regional Species Status Assessments, Outback Region. Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, South Australia. The locational information for biological survey sites is collected in a number of formats, with older surveys in the pastoral region being read from maps at various scales (may be up to 1:250,000) and newer surveys using GPS. Note there is no equivalent regional rating in the Northern Territory.
